It has been over a decade since Celestica, along with a group of leading electronics companies, founded the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC). This non-profit coalition is committed to supporting the rights and well-being of workers and communities worldwide in the global electronics supply chain. Today, Celestica remains a proud member of the EICC and is committed to improving working and environmental conditions through leading standards and practices.

At Celestica, a culture of sustainability is well-integrated into our corporate fabric. It is an area in which we strongly believe we can lead change in our industry, drive value for our customers and improve the communities in which we live and work. Our commitment to the EICC is a strong component of our sustainability program.

The EICC has numerous risk assessment methods in place to ensure electronics companies are complying with the established standards and practices as outlined by their Code of Conduct. One method in particular, the Validated Audit Process (VAP), is considered a best-in-class program.

The VAP is a robust and comprehensive audit program for the electronics industry. A VAP provides companies assurance in identifying risks, and driving improvements and robust management systems for labour, ethics, health, safety and environmental conditions.

In 2015, Celestica’s sites in Laem Chabang, Thailand, and Oradea, Romania, successfully completed their EICC VAP, a rigorous process that involved an initial audit and a closure audit as well as Corrective Action Plan (CAP) management. Celestica is credited as the first EMS company to receive this industry-leading recognition. This is a strong example of Celestica’s commitment to maintaining the EICC’s compliance programs.
