Our Sustainability Strategy

Our strategy aims to drive environmental sustainability; support our local communities; and create a vibrant, positive workplace that empowers our people. We work to achieve this through a range of global programs that minimize the environmental impact of our operations and supply chain; instill best-in-class employment practices; and help to address social challenges where we live and work.

United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals

Celestica has adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) as part of our sustainability strategy and corporate social responsibility programs. The goals promote strategies to address poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. We are prioritizing four goals where we believe we will have the biggest impact.

Aspirational Sustainability Goals

In 2013, we set aspirational sustainability goals that are embedded into everything we do at Celestica and we strive to consistently progress towards achieving them each year. Our aspirational goals include:

  • Reduce our absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 30% of 2012 levels by 2020.
  • Have 50% of our workforce take time off to volunteer in their communities every year by 2020.
  • Achieve 100% waste diversion by 2020.
  • Have 100% of eligible employees participate in the Sustainable Workspace program by 2020.
