This document defines the minimum quality requirements for chemicals and consumable items that are selected and qualified by Celestica and to be used in the manufacture of environmentally compliant printed circuit assemblies/ electrical sub-assemblies and systems, that remain (or potentially remain) on the assembly when it is shipped to the customer. The Chemical and Consumable items covered include solder paste, solder flux, underfill materials, encapsulants/conformal coating, adhesives, thermal grease, thermal interface materials, labels/ink used on labels, tapes, markers, solder mask, repair chemicals, braid, flux brushes, solvents, wash de-foamer, saponifiers, tie wraps and wire-add materials. This document applies when referenced in an appropriate Celestica request for quotation, purchase order, contract or QSPEC and hence it becomes part of any such document.

This document defines the standard to be followed by all Celestica suppliers when shipping on an ex-works basis from a supplier location to a Celestica designated delivery location. It defines the inter-continental and intra-regional transportation carriers that should be utilized. Also, this routing guide addresses the standard service levels and provides an authorization process when premium service is required.

The International Maritime Organization has amended the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention to include a container weight verification requirement, effective July 1, 2016.  As a result of this new requirement, all shippers of ocean freight are responsible for the verification of the packed container which includes the material and weight of the container.  This document provides suppliers with a list of documentation required for ocean freight shipments.

Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires SEC reporting companies to conduct an inquiry into the source and chain of custody of conflict minerals. Celestica fully supports the objectives of this legislation, and will make every effort to reasonably assure that the tantalum, tungsten, tin, gold, and Cobalt in the products we manufacture do not directly or indirectly finance or benefit unauthorized armed groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries (the DRC Region).

Furthermore, Celestica expects all of its suppliers to comply with this legislation and provide all required declarations using the Responsible Minerals Initiative’s (RMI) Conflict Minerals Reporting Template and Extended Minerals Reporting Template. Celestica will assess any future business with suppliers who are noncompliant with this policy.
